At the end of the 14th round of the Bundesliga, defending champion Salzburg prevailed 3-0 in the top flight in the table third WAC. Erling Haaland scored all goals. Wiener Austria beat SV Mattersburg 2-1 at home, but remain in the table. The LASK defeated meanwhile the Admira just with 1: 0.
The Wolfsberger had to follow up on Sunday in Salzburg early on a deficit, as Salzburg Goalgetter Erling Haaland had met in the 4th minute. In the closing stages of the Norwegian beat twice more, he now holds 15 season goals.
Alexander Grunwald (14th) and Thomas Ebner (50th) met for Austria, Patrick Burger was successful for Mattersburg (77th). The Violet succeeded after three laps with only one point again a sense of achievement, even if they had to tremble in the finish properly. The Mattersburger, however, are penultimate after their fifth defeat in a row. However, the success of the Austria supporters could not be lenient. The organized fan scene renounced throughout the game on cheers and instead presented banners at regular intervals, on which the club leadership – especially CEO Markus Kraetschmer, but also the sporting director Peter StOger and Ralf Muhr – were strongly criticized.
Three days after the European Cup Gala against PSV Eindhoven the LASK celebrated the next success. The Upper Austrians beat Admira in Pasching on Sunday thanks to a goal from Thomas Goiginger (30) 1-0 (1-0) and thus brought the sixth league victory in a row. Thus, the LASK decided the sixth duel with the Lower Austrians in a row for themselves.
On Saturday, Erzrivale Rapid had celebrated a sovereign 3-0 win at SCR Altach, Sturm Graz won the Styrian derby against TSV Hartberg 3-1. Most goals in the round scored St. POlten 5-1 against WSG Tirol. For the SKN it was the highest victory in Bundesliga history.
