Schwyz: UDC elected activist attacks left – Switzerland

A local UDC politician attacked a leftist activist with pepper spray on the sidelines of a protest against racism that took place in April in Schwyz. He also stole a banner.

The victim of the pepper spray attack did not file a complaint, the public prosecutor of Innerschwyz told Keystone-ATS on Sunday. He confirmed the incident reported by the SonntagsBlick.

An investigation was opened against the theft of a banner. A member of the Schwyzoise section of the SVP was heard on 2 October. However, a procedure should not be started, according to the public prosecutor in charge of the case cited in the article. The evidence would be insufficient, according to the SonntagsBlick.

Disguised as members of the Ku-Klux-Klan

The April 13 anti-racist demonstration brought together several hundred people and led to clashes between far-right and far-right activists. It followed an incident that occurred in early March during the Schwyz carnival. Men had paraded in costumes of the Ku-Klux-Klan, the white supremacist American movement.

Thirteen people, including twelve Swiss aged 18 to 30, had been arrested by the police. Domiciled in the region, they admitted to having participated in the parade in this accoutrement. Criminal investigation was opened against them for racial discrimination. (Ps / nxp)
