Sur del Jibaro stands out for its exports


The Agroindustrial Enterprise of Granos Sur del Jibaro, of the spirit municipality of La Sierpe, is today located as one of the entities of the agricultural sector that grows most in offers for export in the country.

Among the products demanded by the international market are Galano certified rice, guava hulls and other sweets such as mango and acerola (red cherries) in syrup with excellent texture and flavor.

Also through Citricos Caribe S.A. exports marabou charcoal (Dichrostachys cinerea), an invasive plant native to the Old World.

At present they produce, with high quality meat products, sausage and ham from the Torisur brand.

For Orlando Linares, direct from the company, the purpose is to diversify exports and productive integration with tourism, as well as expand and promote the portfolio of foreign investment opportunities and consolidate new businesses.

The strategy, he told Prensa Latina, is to consolidate the productive results, efficiency and export disposition with competitiveness to continue growing.

Recently at the International Food and Agriculture Fair (Fiagrop) 2019, Galano rice received a gold medal and the quality of about 20 products it showed was recognized.

Last January, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, in exchange with leaders and workers of Sur del Jibaro, described the entity as an example of the efficient socialist state enterprise.
