Taison expelled for cracking after racist cries

The Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk has condemned the exclusion of his Brazilian captain Taison, targeted by racist cries on Sunday and expelled for sending the ball towards the stand of fans Dynamo Kiev.

In the 74th minute of play, while his team were leading 1-0 in this match played at the Metalist stadium in Kharkov (north-east), Taison fired towards the kop of Dynamo, from which racist insults came, before to send him a finger of honor, which has earned him to be expelled for "unsportsmanlike behavior," say the Ukrainian media.

The 31-year-old Shakhtar captain, whom he joined in 2013, left the field in tears, comforted by players from Dynamo Kiev. Another Brazilian from the Donetsk club, Dentinho, also cried, according to the pictures.

Shakhtar denounces racism

The two teams have, for a time, left the field before resuming, without Taison, the match, won by the Donetsk club (1-0).

"Racism is a shame, together we have to fight it every day, every minute and every second," said Shakhtar Donetsk's Portuguese coach Luis Castro, who has been supporting his players.

"FC Shakhtar categorically opposes any form of racism," added the Ukrainian triple-champion club on its website, adding that "nothing can justify these insults to people because their skin color, their religion or their political opinions ".

"Football is not a question of racism", simply reacted Dynamo Kiev on Twitter.
