Bolivia is involved in a political crisis after the victory in the presidential elections of Evo Morales, among allegations of fraud by the opposition.

The Prosecutor General of Bolivia announced this Sunday a process against the members of the Supreme Electoral Court for "alleged irregular acts", after the president of the country, Evo Morales, called for new elections after a preliminary report of the Organization of American States (OAS), which recommended holding other elections, according to EFE.

Evo Morales:

The Prosecutor's Office has indicated that the "very serious" irregularities detected by the OAS can lead to "criminal and electoral wrongs linked to the calculation of official results."

Also, on November 10, the Minister of Mining of Bolivia, Cesar Navarro, and the Minister of Hydrocarbons, Luis Alberto Sanchez, have resigned. The same step was taken by the president of the Chamber of Deputies of the country, Victor Borda.

Political crisis in Bolivia

Previously, Evo Morales called for new national elections "that through the vote allow the Bolivian people to democratically elect their new authorities, incorporating new political actors"and announced his decision to renew all the members of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal.

"In the following hours the Plurinational Legislative Assembly, in agreement with all political forces, will establish the procedures for this," said the president.

Also, the president has called for "lowering all tension" in the country, saying that "we all have the obligation to pacify Bolivia".
