Pumas UNAM let out one of the best opportunities he had in the championship to depend on himself to enter the Liguilla after drawing 1-1 against the already eliminated FC Juarez on day 18 of the 2019 Opening Tournament of the Liga MX.
In the first half, the team totally dominated the times of the game and the control of the ball, generating the most dangerous opportunities in the first 45 minutes, in which it seemed the team would not suffer too much to be able to take all three points.
After a post by Bryan Mendoza before the first 20 minutes and several dangerous moves in favor of the university students, it had to be "Cocoliso" Gonzalez who opened the score after a wonderful individual play by Alan Mozo, who after a center left-handed, managed to connect with Felipe Mora, who dramatically lowered the ball to the Paraguayan so that he shouted the first of the game.
From there, Pumas lowered the revolutions and controlled very calmly the end of the first half that, with that result, made the National University Club recover the eighth place in the championship.
The second half continued with the same tone, although Juarez began to have a little more ball in his possession, but Pumas was still the team that carried the threads of the game.
But everything began to fall at minute 53 when, after a great play by Carlos Gonzlalez in front of the goal, the Paraguayan was committed a penalty which seemed to sentence the match in favor of the Auriazules.
But everything is far from this: Not only was the penalty failed by Victor Ignacio Malcorra, but Gonzalez was injured in the play and had to be replaced at 58 'by Martin Barragan and, from there, the game of Pumas was not the same.
Juarez took advantage of this very well, that with an individual jury from Jose Esquivel he scored a great goal and so the definitive draw on the scoreboard, which, unfortunately for the university team, complicates him and his entry for the Liguilla of this semester.
