The FK Austria Wien was able to catch up on the air just before the international break and has taken a first step out of the sporting crisis. The violets cheered on Sunday afternoon a 2-1 home win against SV Mattersburg. Alexander Grunwald brought a dominant acting Austria in the 14th minute after a corner in the lead. Immediately after the break, Thomas Ebner increased to a standard to 2: 0, before Patrick Burger made the game in the final phase again exciting. In the end, however, the Burgenlanders conceded the fifth league league en suite. Austria, meanwhile, is back in seventh place in the table with their first victory since the beginning of October.

SVM coach exchanges the goalkeeper again
Austria coach Christian Ilzer changed after the 0-2 defeat against LASK twice. Christoph Martschinko and Tarkan Serbest had to sit on the bench for the time being. But rotated Manprit Sarkaria and Thomas Ebner in the starting lineup of Violets.
Guest coach Franz Ponweiser made four changes: Markus Kuster defended the goal today instead of Tino Casali, who had recently presented himself insecure. In addition, Florian Hart, Andreas Kuen and Marko Kvasina were new in the starting eleven.
Austria dominates the first 45 minutes
The match in the Generali-Arena got off to a good start: Manprit Sarkaria, who was allowed to play today from the start, came home from a comfortable eight-meter cross after a cross from Monschau, but put it clearly over (2.). Two minutes later, Sarkaria failed with a deflected long-range shot at SVM keeper Kuster (4 '). The violets were at the beginning of the much more dedicated team, especially Manprit Sarkaria brought much momentum in the offensive division of Violets. After another shot of the 23-year-old had missed the goal of Burgenland, it ringed a little later for a standard: Andreas Kuen made an already cleared ball again sharp, Madl prevailed in the header duel against Kvasina and served so Grunwald, who from a few meters dry hit the 1: 0 lead (14.).
The hosts also remained in the episode, the more active and courageous appearing team: Florian Klein made with a rather involuntary shot on goal for great danger, met with his well-intentioned cross the left cross of the cross (23). In the 36th minute Palmer-Brown had the huge chance to the 2: 0, shot from close range just over it. Shortly before the break, however, the Burgenlander almost equalized, but Lucic defused Jano's shot from close range (45. + 1).

Ebner raises to 2: 0, but citizens makes the game again exciting
The Violets got off to a perfect start in the second half, beating them 2-0 just five minutes into the restart. Palmer-Brown kicked a corner actually out of the danger zone of Burgenland, but served so Thomas Ebner, who met from the central position in the box sovereign to the lower left corner – 2: 0 (50.). As a result, the game lost a bit of pace, as the Austria presented with a 2-0 lead in the back now a little more defensive.
Mattersburg, on the other hand, lacked creative ideas and probably the necessary quality in the offensive. Rather, the Austria was the third goal closer than the guests from Burgenland their first. While Christoph Monschein failed twice out of the game, SVM-Goalie Kuster was able to steer a Grunwald free-kick close to the goal (67 ').
Shortly afterwards, Patrick Burger managed the alleged first goal, but the striker-veteran stood in the delivery of Halper offside (68.). A little later, Patrick met again citizen and this time counted his goal: He climbed highest at a Solomon corner and headed the leather from close range over the line – 2: 1 (76.). The Mattersburger started in the closing stages, however, an attacking race, which, however, brought nothing more. In the end, however, the Burgenland had to defeat for the fifth time in a row.
