Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby left the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday night with a lower-body injury.
No details will be offered by the club before Monday.
See the footage in the video, above.
Crosby's left leg collided with defender Erik Gustafsson's side during a third-period incursion.
Number 87 lost his balance and he got up slowly after grinning.
Moments later, a shot from that same Gustafsson hit him on the right foot. He went to the locker room on his return to the bench.
During his briefing, head coach Mike Sullivan said the veteran was being examined by the team's doctors and would not know more before Monday.
Crosby was used for 15:19 against the Blackhawks. He has been cleared of the score sheet at his last four outings.
The first overall pick at the 2015 auction boasts 12 assists and 17 points in as many games.
Note that Evgeni Malkin is surprisingly effective without Crosby in the squad. As noted by journalist Rob Rossi of The Athletic, the Russian averaged 1.33 points per game in 120 regular season clashes without his captain.
