The Seattle Sounders have won for the second time in club history the championship title in the North American Football League MLS. The team from Washington State won the final against Toronto FC 3-1 (0-0).
After a scoreless first half Kelvin Leerdam could bring the hosts in the 57th minute lead. Victor Rodriguez (76) increased Seattle's lead to 2: 0. Raul Ruidiaz made it 3: 0 in the 90th minute for the preliminary decision in the game. Jozy Altidores (90 + 3) Goal to 1: 3 in injury time came late.
For Seattle, it's the second championship title from the past four years. Already in 2016, the Sounders could secure the MLS Cup after a final victory against Toronto. Seattle and Toronto faced each other for the third time in the final of the professional league after 2016 and 2017.
