Tillerson and Kelly had undermined the US president's authority during their term and wanted to win them over, Haley writes, according to US media reports such as the "Washington Post" in a book published in the US on Tuesday. Kelly and Tillerson had told her that they had tried "to save the country," Haley was quoted as saying.
"Undermining a president is really a dangerous thing and it's against the Constitution and against what the Americans want," Haley told CBS on Sunday.
If Trump's work means giving him the "best and most open, lawful and ethical" advice for an informed decision, he pleads guilty, Kelly told The Washington Post.

Dozens of staff changes

Since Trump ruled the White House, there have been dozens of personnel changes. Kelly was released in December 2018, Tillerson in March of the same year – allegedly via Twitter. Earlier White House employees have painted a picture of chaotic conditions in insider reports and booklets. Months after his release, Tillerson said Trump had often asked him to do things that were unlawful.
Haley had voluntarily given up her influential position as Ambassador to the United Nations in New York at the end of 2018. She is said to have great ambitions. In spite of this, speculation persisted that she could compete with Trump for Vice-President Mike Pence at the 2020 US election.
