AORUS FI27Q-X | Recension

Although the video card market is clearly pushing towards the increase in game resolution, high refresh gaming has remained almost entirely the prerogative of the “old” Full HD.

Fans of competitive online FPS titles, in fact, will not find it difficult to reflect in the dilemma of the leap towards 1440p with a maximum refresh of 170Hz as opposed to the more classic 1080p solution from 240Hz or, for the more pretentious, 360Hz.

With the arrival of 2021, GIGABYTE launches on the market a solution destined to unite the two worlds, namely the FI27Q-X model, one of the first QHD monitors based on IPS technology to break the 200Hz barrier, which aims at an experience free of compromises with HBR3 support (DisplayPort 1.4 exclusive) for simultaneous use of maximum refresh, 10-bit color and HDR capabilities.

Although the acronym FI27Q is the same as the two previous models, the X model has in common with these only the external casing and the OSD part, while its heart, the panel, is completely different.

The panel in question is a new SHARP production totally unrelated to the Innolux predecessors, even if we specify that there is no real competition between the two brands, as a partner for the realization of the IGZO panels of these applications.

Perhaps a different name would have given greater prominence to this product which, as we will discover in the following pages, is undoubtedly an elitist solution in its category, which could instead be mistakenly associated with the not a little controversial FI27Q “smooth” and labeled as yet another revision of this ‘last.

Names aside, below we have reported the usual table with all the specifications in detail.
