ASRock Launches Z590 OC Formula Board for Extreme Overclocking Fans

ASRock has unveiled the Z590 OC Formula motherboard for overclocking enthusiasts. It was created with the participation of the famous overclocker Nick Shih, whose autograph flaunts on the heatsink of the board’s batteries. The Z590 OC Formula is an E-ATX form factor designed for use with 10th and 11th generation Intel Core processors.

The novelty is based on a 12-layer printed circuit board. The Z590 OC Formula features an enhanced 16-phase processor power subsystem. Two additional phases are allocated for powering the RAM. Speaking of the latter. There are two DDR4 slots here. The manufacturer claims support for RAM over 5600 MHz by manual overclocking. The maximum memory size can be 64 GB.

The Z590 OC Formula is equipped with two PCIe 4.0 x16, one PCIe 3.0 x16, and two PCIe 2.0 x1 slots. Eight SATA III connectors, one Hyper M.2 (PCIe 4.0 x4) slot, and two Ultra M.2 (PCIe 3.0 x4) slots are allocated to organize the storage system. The network capabilities of the new product are provided by 2.5- and 1-gigabit ports, as well as support for wireless data transmission standards Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.

The board is equipped with a 7.1-channel audio codec Realtek ALC1220 and an ESS SABER DAC amplifier. In total, the Z590 OC Formula has thirteen USB ports.

Additionally, it is worth noting the presence of dedicated buttons designed to simplify the tasks of manual overclocking of components. The rear panel contains buttons for a quick BIOS update from a flash card, as well as reset the BIOS and change its operating modes.

On the board itself, on the side of the RAM connectors, there are many additional buttons responsible for changing the three proprietary NickShih OC overclocking profiles, enabling, rebooting, safe boot, enabling and disabling PCIe connectors, as well as smoothly increasing and decreasing the CPU frequency. In addition, the board provides two zones for voltage measurement.
