Basketball: James Harden makes ‘double triple’ on emotional return to Houston

James Harden marked his emotional return to Houston with a ‘double triple’ in the Brooklyn Nets’ victory over the Rockets 132-114 on Wednesday’s North American Basketball League (NBA) round.

“It was a great mix of feelings for the fans, but I already knew it was going to be like this. I wanted to come here and show you what I can do. For me, when I enter the field, the goal is to win ”, said Harden, after adding 29 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds.

Harden, honored on his return with a video of his time at the Rockets, was decisive in the seventh consecutive win outside the Brooklyn Nets, the club’s new record, and 10th in the last 11 games played, for a total of 24 wins and 13 losses, that are worth second place at the Eastern Conference.

The 31-year-old, who played his first three seasons (2009/10 to 2011/12) in the NBA in the service of the Oklahoma City Thunder, has now switched to the current Rockets, which he has played for since 2012/13 , for the Nets, in an exchange that involved four teams and half a dozen players.

In Wednesday’s match, Kyrie Irving, with 24 points, Bruce Brown, with 17, and substitute Nicolas Claxton, with 16, supported Harden, while John Wall, with 36, and Victor Oladipo, with 33, led the Rockets, who suffered the 13th consecutive defeat, their worst record since 2001.
