Suara.com – Nintendo plans to release a Switch model with a larger screen size this year, according to a new report from Bloomberg.
The report said Samsung Display will supply the game console’s screen with a 7-inch OLED panel with 720p resolution which will go into mass production in June this year.
The Nintendo Switch currently has an LCD panel measuring 6.2 inches with a resolution of 720p, while the Switch Lite comes with a 5.5 inch LCD screen and has the same resolution.
Thus, the latest Switch version includes a bigger and better display. However, the 720p resolution in the retained handheld mode might disappoint some players.

But in a Bloomberg report, the new model will also support 4K graphics resolution when connected to a TV so the decision to stick with 720p in handheld mode might save battery life.
Reporting from The Verge on Saturday (6/3/2021), the report did not mention when the release date for this new version of the Switch.
However, Bloomberg sources predict the console will be released during the holidays and Samsung will start shipping 7-inch OLED panels to builders around Julo.
The monthly target is expected to be around one million units and Nintendo plans to make as many consoles as possible.
