Changes continue in the Central Bank

Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) Vice President Murat Cetinkaya was recently given the task was fulfilled Mustafa Duman. The appointment decision signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was published in the Official Gazette. With 27 years of experience in banking and financial markets, Smoke, finally, was carrying out duties as General Manager of US investment bank Morgan Stanley’s office in Turkey. Duman has also been on the Audit Committee of Morgan Stanley Saudi Arabia since 2015.

It was pointed out that Duman had previously worked with President Şahap Kavcıoğlu at Esbank. Esbank was seized by the state in 1999. However, it was noteworthy that Esbank was not included in Duman’s resume on the Central Bank website. Meanwhile, Murat Çetinkaya, who was dismissed from office, had previously worked as a manager at Halk Invest and Halk Portfolio. Kavcıoğlu was previously the Deputy General Manager of Halk Bankası. It is also among the allegations made in the backstage that the relationship between Kavcıoğlu and Çetinkaya has been broken since then.


Another remarkable detail about the new Vice President, Mustafa Duman, is that he completed his master’s degree at Marmara University Banking Institute. Turkey Welfare Fund Board Chairman Prof. Erişah Arıcan was also a faculty member at this university. Arıcan was also the thesis advisor to the Minister of Treasury and Finance, Berat Albayrak.

There are comments in the backstage that the appointment of Duman to the MB is a message to the USA. Morgan Stanley is an international investment bank headquartered in New York, USA.
