The Angolan health authorities announced today two more deaths associated with covid and 50 new infections due to the new coronavirus, bringing the total to 536 deaths and 22,182 cases, in addition to another 66 patients recovered since Monday.
According to the epidemiological bulletin of the National Directorate of Public Health, the cases were diagnosed in Luanda (47), Cabinda (1), Cuanza Sul (1) and Huíla (1).
Ages vary between 1 and 82 years old, 30 male and 20 female.
In the last 24 hours, two deaths were reported, of Angolan citizens, aged 35 and 92, in Bié and Luanda.
In the same period 66 people were recovered, aged between 1 and 70 years.
The laboratories processed 1,661 samples and the cumulative points to 428,491 samples, with a positivity rate of 5.2%.
With the new cases, Angola counts 22,182 infections, 20,446 recovered patients, 1,200 in active phase and 536 deaths, with 87 people hospitalized and 26 in institutional quarantine.
A pandemic covid-19 caused at least 2,792,586 deaths worldwide, resulting from more than 127 million cases of infection, according to a report made by the French agency AFP.
The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
