Vice President of CD Projekt RED Business Development Michał Nowakowski, as part of yesterday’s report to investors, commented on the situation around Cyberpunk 2077 and the PlayStation Store.
Recall that a week after the release, Cyberpunk 2077 was temporarily removed from the PlayStation digital store due to the unsatisfactory quality of the final game.
Almost three and a half months have passed since then. No word has been heard about the possible return of Cyberpunk 2077 to the PS Store, but CD Projekt RED is optimistic.
“As for the process, we have already released several patches and small patches, and [позавчера] – especially a big update, and each [такой релиз] brings us closer to returning to the PS Store “– said Novakovsky.
According to Novakovsky, the decision to restore Cyberpunk 2077 in the PS Store remains with Sony, but CD Projekt RED is confident that the game “nearer [к возвращению в продажу]than further “ from him.
In the same conversation with investors, Novakovsky added that the temporary removal of Cyberpunk 2077 from Sony’s digital store could negatively impact sales of the game for other target platforms.
“Obviously, a lot of gamers are looking forward to Sony’s verdict, and we are confident that this could influence the purchasing decision. [Cyberpunk 2077] not only those who play on the PlayStation, but also [пользователей] other platforms “– explained Novakovsky.
How well Cyberpunk 2077 performs this year depends, according to Novakovsky, on two factors: the success of the released patches (this should lead to a return to the PS Store) and the release of the game on the current generation consoles.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, GeForce Now and Google Stadia, and on PS5, Xbox Series X and S in Backward Compatibility mode. The recently released patch 1.2 includes over 500 notable fixes.
