Dance and theater students react in their own way to the lockdown. As they say, “distance education, closed schools, closed art spaces, create suffocation for us”. Thus, they gathered on Friday afternoon in Syntagma Square and Herodeion, utilizing the amphitheater steps respectively, in order to present their actions.

Read in detail their announcement:

“They closed our school – we make our way to the tent

Just before the completion of 1 year with closed schools, closed theaters, closed places of culture in general, we take the situation into our own hands! Our desire to express ourselves is stronger than ever. Distance education, closed schools, closed art spaces, create suffocation for us. Our mobilizations all this time have been and are focused on being able to make art again, to be in essential contact with our object. The initiative of artistic activity we want to embrace this purpose. We show in practice that not only do we not give up our studies, but that we organize ourselves what could now be done. That is, our studies should not be “suspended”, art should not be quarantined! We invite all students of our schools to present their work on the street, in groups or as it otherwise serves. In the place of the exams we would have, of the presentation of our work, we reheat our bodies, sharpen our expressiveness, go out, meet again, make art alive again, a collective affair! We choose the “road”, because there we met all this time, because there we revived ourselves, because there we place our hope for our studies, because there is our strength, because this is the “only road” now ! »
