Suara.com – Italy still continues the perfect results in the 2022 European Zone World Cup Qualifiers after crushing hosts Lithuania with a score of 2-0. Two goals from Gli Azzurri were scored by Stefano Sensi and Ciro Immobile
In the match at the LFF Stadium, Vinisius, Thursday (1/4/2021), coach Roberto Mancini made 10 changes to the squad that beat Bulgaria 2-0 on Sunday and this turned out to make it difficult for them to break into Lithuania.
After the break, however, Italy struck straight when Sensi who was named as a substitute scored two minutes into the second half, before Immobile converted a penalty in stoppage time to seal the Azzurri’s three points.
This convincing win kept Italy top of their group standings with nine points after embracing this sixth straight win in which the Azzurri did not concede a single goal during that time.

Italy are now unbeaten in 25 matches under Mancini for the second longest run without a defeat equal to that of Marcelo Lippi.
“The pitch is difficult and it doesn’t even get wet,” Mancini told Rai Sport as quoted by Antara. “We still have many opportunities to score goals,” he continued as quoted by Reuters.
Facing weaker opponents, the result of this match is not too dubious even though Italy was not able to create opportunities at the start of the match.
Sensi who plays for Inter Milan in the Italian Serie A comes on from the bench for two minutes later to score a goal.
Italy were stunned when Tautvydas Eliosius almost equalized, but Gianluigi Donnarumma made a glorious save.
