The Minister of Labor, Raluca Turcan, participated in a tree planting event in the mountainous area of ​​Tălmaciu, Sibiu County, where she was photographed without a mask. After the event, one participant found out that he had COVID-19.

Raluca Turcan is the president of the PNL Sibiu organization, and this weekend she participated in an event in Tălmaciu, together with several liberals from the county, where she was photographed without a protective mask.

The president of the Sibiu County Council, Daniela Cîmpean, does not wear a mask either.

The event was also attended by the administrator of Sibiu County, Adrian Bibu, a candidate from the PNL, in 2020, for the position of mayor of the city. On Monday, he learned that he had COVID-19 and was in hospital under surveillance.

Minister Raluca Turcan declared, on Wednesday evening, for MEDIAFAX, that the participation in the event in Tălmaciu took place on the condition of presenting an antigen test.

“The condition for participating in the afforestation action was for each participant to take an antigen test. Masks and disinfectants were also available at the outdoor location. The nearest town is 6 km away, where the infection rate was 0.33 “, says Turcan.

The Minister adds that the photos that appear on the Facebook page of PNL Sibiu are not representative of the approximately 5 hours spent outdoors.

“The distance was generally respected, and the masks were worn, with few exceptions, usually when taking photos, serving meals or consuming soft drinks,” said Raluca Turcan.
