In a letter to the cabinet, the province of Utrecht and fifteen municipalities are asking for more financial support for entrepreneurs of essential shops and catering establishments.
The province and municipalities write that entrepreneurs have a lack of perspective and powerlessness as a result of the corona measures. They therefore ask the cabinet to do more.
“We increasingly see that the current support measures do not provide the necessary support for many entrepreneurs of non-essential shops and restaurants. They are about to fall. not able to survive. “
According to the province and municipalities, sales declines of up to 90 percent are no exception. The measures also affect many entrepreneurs mentally. “Entrepreneurs feel lonely. That is in addition to the stress and anxiety they have about the survival of their life’s work.”
In addition to more financial support, the province and municipalities want banks and real estate owners to be encouraged to show leniency.
The letter is signed by the province and municipalities of De Bilt, Bunnik, Houten, IJsselstein, Lopik, Montfoort, Nieuwegein, Oudewater, De Ronde Venen, Stichtse Vecht, Utrechtse Heuvelrug, Vijfheerenlanden, Wijk bij Duurstede, Woerden and Zeist.
