R. Eigim is being tried in Riga on charges of corruption and possession of ammunition

A criminal case of corruption against the deputy was initiated in connection with the renovation project of buildings at 7 Parades Street (Saskanyas School).

According to the prosecution, Eigim demanded a bribe of at least 10 thousand euros for winning the competition for the implementation of this construction project in 2018. The winner in this competition was Modus Būve, which was chosen from 4 companies applying for the renovation. The total amount of the contract for the construction work for the reconstruction of the Saskanas school was 2,730,347 euros.

Responsibility for the deed is specified in part 4 of Article 320 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Latvia and provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment from 3 to 11 years, with or without confiscation of property, prohibiting to hold certain positions for up to 5 years.
