Suara.com – Persija Jakarta coach Sudirman admitted that Bambang Pamungkas, who is familiarly called Bepe, has an important role in the team. Especially when Persija will face a crucial match, motivation is needed.
As is known, Bepe no longer accompanies Persija Jakarta as team manager. Persija’s management did not renew Bepe’s contract which ended in January 2021.
Persija will play a life and death match against Bhayangkara Solo FC on matchday three of Group B of the 2021 Menpora Cup at Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, Wednesday (31/3/2021). The Kemayoran Tigers – nicknamed Persija – must win if they want to qualify for the last eight.
Bepe’s role is really needed at a time like this. However, Sudirman is sure that Marko Simic and his friends already understand the situation and know what they should do without Bepe.

“Bepe’s role in the team is very big, but in the absence of him, I think all the players already know that whatever happens means that without him we will always give the best for Persija,” said Sudirman in a virtual press conference, Tuesday (30 / 3/2021).
“So that’s the most important thing. We also emphasize all teams at this time,” added the man who once strengthened the Indonesian national team.
Bepe is in the public spotlight following the case that befell the former Indonesian national team player. A woman named Amalia Fujiawati sued Bambang Pamungkas to the South Jakarta Religious Court regarding the origins and support of the child.
This case also reportedly made Persija management reluctant to extend Bepe’s contract. However, in an official statement, the team management did not mention it and only mentioned the contract that had ended.
Bambang Pamungkas was appointed manager of Persija Jakarta in 2020. Bepe himself announced hanging up his shoes in 2019.
