Turcan announces that purple coupons will reach people who opt for the card pension starting March 15

Lucian Alecu

The pension coupons that the postmen have to take home to those who have chosen to receive their pension in the bank account will reach the recipients starting with March 15, the Minister of Labor, Raluca Turcan, announced on Tuesday.

“Since March 15, we have solved a problem that has been going on for years: the purple coupon reaches pensioners who receive pensions through a bank account. These are the pension coupons that postmen have to take home to those who have chosen to receive their rights through the bank. It was not a great philosophy, but only a clear discussion with the Romanian Post, which has not complied with a contractual obligation for 15 years: based on an existing contract and a payment of almost 5 million lei to carry, monthly, the purple coupons on which the 2.3 million holders must receive them “, specified Raluca Turcan.

All pensioners must receive a pension voucher, according to the legislation in force. Those who receive the pension at home, the coupon is red, as a payment document.

“The ignorance of the contractual provisions by the postal factors, perpetuated for years, was resolved in just a few days by an additional act signed between the National House of Public Pensions and the Romanian Post National Company to the Framework Convention concluded in 2003. By this Convention it is clearly stipulated that the purple coupons must be distributed at the pensioners’ domicile by the postal factors, and can be returned to the Pension Houses only after 24 months from the date of issuance “, it is said in the communiqué.

The National House of Public Pensions specified, at the beginning of the year, that between 2 – 10% of the purple coupons, approximately 30,000 coupons, were not distributed at home, but were returned to the pension houses.
