By the decision of the Capital Council, providers of non-formal education are exempted from short-term rental fees for stadiums, gyms and other premises in educational institutions managing municipal property.
The decision made on Wednesday provides for the benefit to be applied retroactively from March 1 to the end of the school year – August 31.
According to the municipality, this benefit will differ from the previous ones in that not only suppliers who have completely ceased their activities, but also teachers and organizations conducting classes in accordance with the recommendations provided by the Government will be exempted from hiring.
“Prolonged quarantine has significantly limited non-formal education activities, so we feel obliged to help professionals and institutions working in these areas as much as possible. We hope that the measure will help to minimize the costs incurred, maintain jobs and make it easier to return to the organization of education after the end of the quarantine, ”says Vilnius Deputy Mayor Valdas Benkunskas.
Freelance teachers and non-profit organizations whose statutes provide for sports, health, cultural, artistic and educational activities and whose activities are provided to persons up to 21 years of age will be exempted from renting the premises of stadium gyms and other educational institutions. Rents will also not apply to non-profit public organizations of the disabled, whose statutes provide for sports, health, cultural, artistic and educational activities of the disabled, when activities are organized on the premises for the disabled.
Under the existing contracts, 138 organizations and 148 freelance teachers will benefit from the benefit.
At present, non-formal education providers have concluded a total of 844 contracts valid until August with 170 different educational institutions in Vilnius. It is estimated that together these organizations and teachers will save about 73 thousand. euros.
You will not need to submit a separate application for benefits. Contracts with eligible non-formal education providers will be selected automatically and invoices to suppliers will be credited. For some tenants, invoices for March can already be automatically generated and submitted, but for this period, as in April-August, they will not have to be paid.
According to the report, tenants who do not want to receive state aid will be able to refuse the benefit.
