On this day, Catholics are invited to reflect on the last supper that Jesus led with his disciples.

This last supper is the time before Jesus was arrested, tried, and punished by the cross until his death.

Holy Thursday Service

The Holy Thursday commemoration is usually marked by the washing of the feet of the people by the priest. This is done as a reminder of Jesus washing the feet of his disciples at the Last Supper, where for the last time Jesus shares the Passover bread with the disciples.

This incident is an example of Jesus which is interpreted by his followers as “servants” and as the ministry of Jesus in the world before His death. After the procession of washing the feet of the people, it is followed by adoration as well as praying.
