Apple AirPods have become incredibly popular, to the point that virtually every major brand has created their own wireless earbuds. However, wearing this type of so techy wireless headphones close to the brain makes many users wonder if they are good or bad for your health.
It is true that many scientists have tried find relationship between the use of these wireless headphones, and the electromagnetic radiation they emit, with certain diseases such as cancer.
The most famous is the professor of biochemistry at the University of Colorado, Jerry Phillips, who was concerned about “exposure of the ear canal to relatively high levels of radio frequency radiation” when using the AirPods.
However, these statements appeared when the AirPods hit the market many years ago, and since then, no scientific studies have shown that radio frequencies cause cancer or other diseases. I mean, AirPods aren’t bad for your brain or your health, as long as you use them correctly.
The main health problem of the AirPods
The electromagnetic radiation emitted by AirPods is not harmful to your health, but what can seriously affect your ears is the maximum volume to which you can use the AirPdos. Not unique to AirPods, using any earbud too loud can be harmful.
Apple has included options in the iOS settings to avoid these potential problems. If we enter Settings> Sounds and vibrations> Headphone security, we can activate the option to reduce loud sounds and we can see a history of the last months in which we have been able to use the AirPods at too high a volume.
If you use the AirPods in a normal way, you will not have any problem with your health so you have nothing to worry about. They won’t affect your brain or your ears if you use them responsibly.
