ASAE inspected 194 terraces during this Thursday

The Authority for Food and Economic Security (ASAE) inspected this Thursday 194 economic operators in 19 municipalities in mainland Portugal. The action was aimed at “checking compliance with the legal requirements established for food and beverage establishments and the like, which have open terraces,” said ASAE, in a statement.

The targeted municipalities were Porto, Matosinhos, Chaves, Tarouca, Barcelos, Coimbra, Aveiro, Ílhavo, Mira, Castelo Branco, Figueira da Foz, Viseu, Guarda, Lisbon, Cascais, Oeiras, Évora, Loulé and Olhão.

21 administrative offense proceedings were initiated, “14 of which were related to rules defined in Decree No. 6/2021, of 3 April, for non-compliance with the mandatory use of masks, non-compliance with the rules of occupation, capacity, permanence, physical distance in open places to the public “. In addition to seven administrative offenses for infractions related to economic activity.

In the municipality of Lisbon “the activities of four retail establishments with sales areas over 200m2 and which were open to the public” were suspended.
