The Russian publishing house Alawar in a fresh press release announced Beholder 3 – the continuation of a series of games about life in a totalitarian state from developers new to the franchise.
There are still few details about the project itself. At the moment, it is only known that the events of Beholder 3 will unfold in a different time interval and in a different country than in the previous parts.
Beholder 3 does not yet have a list of target platforms, but it has an approximate release date: the premiere is scheduled for 2022. Alawar was not ready to provide more accurate information.
Unlike the first two parts of Beholder, the production of the triquel was entrusted not to the Russian studio Warm Lamp Games (formerly Alawar Stargaze), but to the German Paintbucket Games.
The latter, during its existence, managed to be noted for the historical strategy Through the Darkest of Times, nominated in the Games for Impact category (games with an important social connotation) at The Game Awards 2020.
“As a team, we played Beholder and Beholder 2 – these are amazing stories of human tragedies in an inhuman system. And of course, when we got the opportunity to develop a sequel to the game, we felt extremely flattered and excited. “– shared Paintbucket Games co-founder Joerg Friedrich.
Recall that in the original Beholder (2016), the players got the role of a house manager, forced to follow the tenants and write denunciations on them, and the hero of Beholder 2 (2018) was a poor employee who was also familiar with difficult decisions firsthand.
