During Blizzcon in February this year, a much-anticipated remaster of the classic game Diablo II was revealed. Diablo II: Resurrected has been gifted with updated 3D graphics, a new interface and improved menus. The game is scheduled to launch in 2021, but this weekend the first alpha test will be carried out.
The first round of testers will have access to the alpha version no earlier than April 9 and the session will last until April 12. The first test phase includes only the single player mode in the first two acts, The Sightless Eye and The Secret of the Vizjerei. Three classes are available during the test period – barbarian, amazon and sorceress.
In the alpha test FAQ, developers announce that the multiplayer mode will have its own test session in the future. This weekend’s test focuses instead on whether the game retains the feel of the original despite the changes introduced. The lucky ones are chosen from the PC players who signed up on Blizzard’s website, where it is still possible to sign up.
Diablo II: Resurrected is released for all modern platforms – PC / Windows, Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4/5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S, but the alpha test is only available for PC / Windows.
