For trying to bribe a judge of the capital – imprisonment for 2 women


The judge herself informed the Special Investigation Service about the attempt to bribe, which immediately opened a pre-trial investigation.

The court sentenced Galina Lichachova, a citizen, and Danuta Samanavičienė, the chief specialist of the Vilnius City District Court, who acted as a mediator, to 15 months in prison. restriction of liberty by obliging to work or register with the Employment Service and work 120 hours in health care, social service institutions or non-governmental organizations during the period of deprivation of liberty.

According to the data of the case, the citizen G.Lichačiova, acting in a group of accomplices with the chief specialist of the Vilnius City District Court D.Samanavičienė, offered a bribe of more than 1 MSL to the judges.

The bribe was aimed at the judge’s desired action in the civil case, in which G. Lichachova was a participant in the proceedings, the STT reports.

The pre-trial investigation in this case was carried out by the Central Investigation Board of the Special Investigation Service (STT), the investigation was controlled by the Prosecutor of the Organized Crime and Corruption Investigation Division of the Vilnius Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

The verdict can be appealed within 20 days.
