Suara.com – In the first leg of the 2020/2021 Champions League quarter-finals early in the morning WIB, Manchester City had to struggle to beat the guest, Borussia Dortmund with a score of 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium.
Host attacking midfielder Kevin De Bruyne admitted his team had just had a difficult match. He praised Dortmund as not an opponent at random.
“I think we did well overall, against a good team. It was a really tough game. But in the end we got the result we deserved. 100 per cent we deserved to win!” claims De Bruyne as published on the official UEFA website.
The Belgian footballer captained City in this match. By UEFA, he was named Man of the Match.

De Bruyne is considered to be the motor for the host’s game. The former Chelsea playmaker opened Manchester City’s lead over Dortmund in the 19th minute.
Marco Reus then equalized the score for the visitors in the 84th minute. Luckily for City, Phil Foden scored the winner in the final minute of normal time.
“I don’t remember the start of his move, but it was a good pass from (Riyad) Mahrez and I could score a goal,” De Bruyne said of his goal.
The Manchester Blue coach, Pep Guardiola, also gave his comments. He acknowledged the slick resistance shown by Dortmund.
According to him, Dortmund is a club that is accustomed to playing in the Champions League so it is good at dealing with pressure at the highest level in Europe.
