In Europe, the main indices continue to fall slightly, after the historical highs reached yesterday, at a time when investors are waiting for the release of the minutes of the last meeting of the United States Federal Reserve.
Investor sentiment is also being penalized by the findings of the European Medicines Agency, which admits there is a possible link between the AstraZeneca vaccine and a rare type of blood clot in the brain.
The benchmark for Europe, the Stoxx600, drops 0.14% to 434.66 points, thus retreating from yesterday’s closing record of 435.26 points. In addition to the Portuguese PSI-20, only the indexes for the United Kingdom and France escape falls.
Here, the gains were driven mainly by BCP and Semapa. The bank led by Miguel Maya added 1.96% to 11.97 cents, while Semapa gained 2.84% to 12.30 euros, after Sodim yesterday raised the price offered in the OPA.
